9.12.11 Subd. 1 9.12.12 Subd. 1 Subd. 2 Subd. 3 Subd. 4 Subd. 5 9.12.13 Subd. 1 Subd. 2 9.12.14 Subd. 1 PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENTS The developer shall be required to submit a sign plan for approval, drawn to scale with elevations, at the time application is made for a Planned Unit Development. The sign plan shall include but not be limited to the following information: number of signs, type of signs, sign sizes, type of construction materials, and sign messages. CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS All permanent signs permitted by this ordinance shall be constructed in accordance with this section. In addition to complying with the provisions of this ordinance, all signs shall be constructed in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Uniform E'ai!ding Sign Code and Electrical Code. Ail signs shall be located in such a way that they maintain horizontal and vertical clearance of all electrical power lines and communication lines. All signs and their supporting structures shall maintain clearance and non- interference with all surface and underground facilities and conduits for water, sewage, gas, electricity, or communications equipment or lines. In addition, the placement of all signs and their supporting structures shall not interfere with natural or artificial drainage or surface or underground water. All signs, except those attached flat against the wall of a building shall be constructed to withstand minimum wind loads as follows: a. Solid Signs: Thirty (30) pounds per square foot per face of the sign. Open Signs: Thirty-six (36) pounds per square foot of the total face area of the letters and other sign surfaces, or ten (10) pounds per square foot of the gross surface area of the sign, whichever is greater. SIGN INSTALLERS LICENSE No person, firm or corporation shall engage in the business of erecting, altering, extending, repairing or maintaining signs or sign structures within the City of Ramsey without first having procured a license in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 7 (Licensing and Permits). Applicants not engaged in the business of erecting signs who choose to construct and erect a sign on their own property shall be exempt from the provisions of license as stipulated in Chapter 7 of the Ramsey City Code. NON-CONFORMING SIGNS Any business permanent type signs lawfully existing prior to the adoption of this chapter shall be considered legal non-conforming and shall be allowed to Sign Ord.
