CASE #1: INTERVIEW ~PPLICANTS FOR VACANCY ON PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION By: Zoning Administrator Sylvia .Frolik Background: As you know~ G6rald Zimmerman resigned from the Planning and Zoning Commission to accept an appointme! t oa lthe C~ty Counc~l to fulfill the unexpired term of Richard Cich. The vacancy on the Planning :~ n~Zoning Commission was advertised in the Ramsey Resident. To date I have received four tpP,!tcations: Mr. Paul Holland, Mr. Michael Hadtrath and Mr. Neil Dunlap. The fourth applies at, ~.G, regg Herrick, initially applied for a vacancy on the Economic Development Commission. [~. Herrick was not selected by the EDC and requested that his application be forwarded to ~e .~anning and Zoning Commission for consideration. The letters of application are enclosed f~r ~6ur information. Observations: I have schedu edilan interview with Mr. Holland at 7:30 p.m., Mr. Herrick at 7:45 p.m. and Mr. Dunlap at 8~13 p~m. Mr. Hadtrath is going to be out of town on March 16 and consequently, could not schedule an interview wi h~ ~ Commission. Mr. Hadtrath did indicate that he is willing to waive his opportunity }r a~personal interview so as not to delay the Commission's intent to make a recommends onilto City Council for their action on March 24. Mr. Hadtrath did say that he welcomes Co~i~sion members to call him at his work number (784-9574) if they have any questions of:h,[m~fi~at are not covered in his letter of application. Mr. Hadtrath would not have a conflict with aitea~ding meetings on the first Tuesday of the month. RecommendatiOn: Following thrU' ~terviews, the Commission should review the applications and make a recommendation ~or a City Council appointment to the Planning Commission.
