Councilmemb~r <br />its adoption: <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #92-06- <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINDINGS OF FACT # RELATING TO BRIAN <br />SOHN'S REQUEST FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO CONSTRUCT AN <br /> ACCESSORY STRUCTURE LARGER THAN CITY CODE ALLOWS <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />7. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />11. <br /> <br />12. <br /> <br />That Brian Sohns, hereinafter referred as "Applicant", has properly applied for a <br />conditional use permit to construct an accessory structure larger than City Code allows. <br /> <br />That the Applicant appeared before the Planning and Zoning Commission for a public <br />hearing pursuant to Section 9.03.04 of the Ramsey City Code on June 2, 1992, and that <br />the public hearing was properly advertised and that the minutes of said public hearing are <br />hereby incorporated by reference. <br /> <br />That the subject property is generally known as 17958 Fluorine Street N.W. and is legally <br />described as follows: <br /> <br />Lot I, Block 5, Ford Brook Estates, Anoka County, Minnesota <br /> <br />That the subject property is approximately .85 acres in size. <br /> <br />That the subject property is zoned R-1 Rural Residential. <br /> <br />That the surrounding properties are also zoned R-1 Rural Residential. <br /> <br />That according to Section 9.11.02, subd. 12, the subject parcel is restricted to a total of <br />1,488 square feet of garage and accessory structure space and the proposed accessory <br />garage on the property is restricted to a maximum of 716 square feet. <br /> <br />That the Applicant is proposing to construct an accessory garage that measures 1,064 <br />square feet, which exceeds the maximum size allowed for any single accessory structure by <br />348 square feet and the total allowable garage and accessory structure space on the property <br />by 248 square feet. <br /> <br />That the Applicant has stated that the purpose for exceeding the allowable garage and <br />accessory, structure space on the property is to accommodate the indoor storage of three (3) <br />classic cars, and personal lawn and recreational equipment. <br /> <br />That the Applicant has stated that the proposed accessory structure will be constructed of <br />materials similar in appearance to the principal structure on the property. <br /> <br />That on numerous occasions, the Cit3, of Ramsey has granted approval for the construction <br />of accessory structures larger than allowed by City Code in the R-1 Rural Residential. <br /> <br />That on a couple of occasions, the City of Ramsey denied requests to construct accessory <br />structures larger than City Code allowed because of the excessive accessory structure size <br />being proposed or excessively large accessory structures already existing on the property. <br /> <br />13. That the proposed use will/will not adversely impact traffic in the area. <br /> <br /> <br />
