CASE <br /> <br />#1 <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO EXPAND A <br />MANUFACTURING OPERATION IN THE B-1 BUSINESS DISTRICT <br />By: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Mr. Ron Danner Owns Danner's Cabinet Shop at 16735 Quicksilver Street N.W. The property is <br />approximatelY~ .85 iacres in size and is zoned B-1 Business. Manufacturing is not a permitted use <br />in the B-1 BIl~n~$ District and Mr. Danner is proposing to expand the facility; consequently, Mr. <br />Danner has appli0d for a conditional use permit. The proposed expansion consists of construction <br />of a 2,160 sqU~eifoot wood and stucco building to be used for storage purposes. <br /> <br />ObservationS: . <br /> <br />Danner's Cabinets was originally established on the site in 1975 and there is no record of a <br />conditional us~ p~rrnit being issued. The facility expanded in 1979 and again, no conditional use <br />permit was ad~:]ze~Sed. There was another expansion of the facility in 1984 for which a variance to <br />the rear yard ,Setback was granted. At the time the variance was discussed, it was noted in the <br />record that the ~ity was thereby granting permission for a non-conforming use to expand but <br />again, no sepitrate conditional use permit was issued.
