Councilmember Riley introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #15-01-028 <br />RESOLUTION TO HIRE A PATROL OFFICER <br />WHEREAS, Police Chief Jim Way will retire on January 31, 2015, creating the need to <br />backfill many positions in the Police Department; and <br />WHEREAS, upon the hiring of Ms. Laura Kroll as a Patrol Officer, the backfilling <br />process will be complete; and <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Laura Kroll has been selected as the top candidate for the Patrol <br />Officer position; and <br />WHEREAS, staff has completed the necessary background checks and is recommending <br />that Ms. Laura Kroll be hired as the City's new Patrol Officer, effective February 1, 2015, at <br />$22.98 per hour, which is step 1 of the 2014 wage scale; and <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Laura Kroll will be subject to a 1 -year probationary period and all <br />other personnel policies will apply normally. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />Motion to adopt resolution #15-01-028, to hire Ms. Laura Kroll as the City's new Patrol Officer <br />effective February 1, 2015, at $22.98 per hour, which is step 1 of the 2014 wage. <br />The motion for the adoption of the 'foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />LeTourneau, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Strommen <br />Councilmember Riley <br />Councilmember LeTourneau <br />Councilmember Johns <br />Councilmember Kuzma <br />Councilmember Shryock <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />and the following abstained: <br />None <br />
