Councilmember Pearson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #03-10-286 <br /> <br />CONSIDER AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE A BUILDING OFFICIAL <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, August 26, 2003 the City Council authorized staff to begin the recruitment <br />process for a Building Official; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, eight individuals were interviewed for the position; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, staff recommends that Mr. Mick Kaehler be hired for the Building Official <br />position. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, State of Minnesota, <br /> <br />1) Confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following: <br /> <br />Hire Mick Kaehler as the Building Official at an annual salary of $63,360, contingent <br />upon satisfactory background and reference checks, an employment physical and a drug <br />and alcohol screen. Mr. Kaehler will have tlu'ee weeks of vacation leave banked at the <br />start of employment and will accrue tln'ee weeks of vacation per year in subsequent years. <br />Mr. Kaehler will begin employment on or near November 10, 2003 and will be subject to <br />a six-month probationary period. All other personnel polices will apply nmrnally. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />CouncilmemberKurak, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Perason <br />Councilmember Kurak <br />Councihnember Cook <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councillnember Strommen <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
