A wetland is land that meets the definiti n f "wetlands" set f rth in Secti n 9.02 <br />f this Chain r. It is the resp nsibility f an applicant t dclinoat the w tland <br />b undary r t determine that n wetland exists n a subject pr perty. All <br />d linoati ns must be appr v d by th LCU. Wetland dclincati ns supplied by <br />applicants shall be certified by a qualified wetland delineat r. Wetland delineat ra <br />must satisfy any certification requirements that may be established by the U.S. <br />Army C rps f Engineers r the Minnes to B and f Water and S it Res urces. <br />c. Wetlands have been or will be identified and the management classification of the <br />wetland, as established by the municipal wetland management classificati n map <br />managcm nt c1a„ificati n f a w tland. Th municipal wetland manag mont <br />classification map shall be developed and maintained by the City's Community <br />D v 1 pmcnt Department and is pen t inspocti n by the public. <br />The absence of a wetland on the municipal wetland management classification map <br />r the Nati nal Wetland Invent ry d os, n t represent a definitive dotorminati n a <br />to whether a wetland covered by this Section is or is not present. Wetlands that <br />aro id ntifiod during site sp cific d linoati n activities but d n t appear n tho <br />municipal w tland managom nt cla„ificati n map arc still subj ct t th <br />pr visi ns f this Socti n. Preserve wetlands aro pristine r n ar pristine w tlands that typically ar rated <br />"excepti nal" f r vegetative diversity/integrity and wildlife habitat value. The <br />existing functi ns and values f such wetlands are t be maintained with ut <br />change and strict impact av idance will typically be required. Active <br />management may be necessary t pr tect unique res urces within such <br />wetlands, including high quality native plant c mmunities and, ins me cases, <br />state listed threatened, endangered and/ r special c ncern plant species. <br />'. Manage 1 wetlands are not pristine or near pristine but exhibit minimal <br />diminuti n f functi ns and values. Manage 1 wetlands are typically rated <br />"high" for vegetative diversity/integrity and wildlife habitat value.
