<br />NOTICE I5 HEREBY GIVENthat
<br />the City of kamseyCity Council will
<br />Conduct;a public hearing on Tuesday,
<br />-Jaly,22,'.2058 at 7'00 ,p.m. at the
<br />Ramsey City Hall, 7550 Sunwood
<br />Drive NW; Ramsey, MN 55303.
<br />The purpose of the hearing will
<br />'be to consider the Charter
<br />Commission's recommendation to
<br />amend Sections 5.5 an;1 4.5.5 of the
<br />City Charter to provide: as follows: ,:
<br />„'Section 2.5 Vacancies. A vacancy
<br />in theeouned, whether, it be in the
<br />offite Of mayor or councilmember;

<br />4.5.S Offce Vacancy when less,';
<br />than eight weeks prior to primary
<br />election.
<br />4.5.5.1 Special Election. When a
<br />vacancy in an elected office of the
<br />city occurs whenthere is less than
<br />eight weeks prior to a primary elec'
<br />tion there shall be no primary. elec-:
<br />tlon, except as provided in Section
<br />4.5.5.3 below_ The special electionto
<br />fill the vacancy shall coincide withthe
<br />Regular Municipal. Election and the
<br />notice of Such vacancy shall be pub-
<br />lished as soon as is practicable.
<br />4.5.5.2 'Vacancy ih.offices to be'.

<br />City Clerk's issuance of a certificate of
<br />electionto said person.
<br />4.5.5.3 Vacancy in an office not
<br />to be voted on the Regular Municipal
<br />Election'.11 a vacancy occurs in the
<br />oHlce.ofthe mayar or a councilmem-
<br />ber not standing for election in the
<br />Regular.Municipal Election, a spedal
<br />primary'election and a special elec-
<br />tion Shall be held in January of the.
<br />subsequent year following the
<br />vacancy to fill said vacancy. The elec-
<br />tion procedures for the special prl-
<br />mayelection and the special elec-
<br />tionshall be those -election
<br />procedures for' municipal office can-
<br />didates as prescribed' in Minnesota
<br />Statutes and this. Charter. The term
<br />of the office of the person elected
<br />pursuant to this subsection 4.5.5.3
<br />shall be for the remainder of the it —
<br />unexpired term of the office vacated.
