Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #15-03-071 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING AWARD OF CONTRACT <br />FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 14-28; MUNICIPAL PARKING RAMP EQUIPMENT <br />ENCLOSURE IMPROVEMENTS. <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to a motion of the Ramsey City Council, adopted October 14, <br />2014, authorizing advertisements for bids for making improvements to the Ramsey Municipal <br />Parking Ramp to enclose 14 parking stalls for the purpose of heated indoor storage; and <br />WHEREAS, bids were received, opened, and tabulated on February 23, 2015, and the <br />following bids were found to comply with the advertisement for bids; and <br />BIDDING CONTRACTOR <br />BASE BID <br />ALT. #1 <br />ALT. #2 <br />Construction Results Corporation <br />$298,440 <br />$28,000 <br />$5,000 <br />Black and Dew, LLC <br />$342,000 <br />$20,000 <br />$4,700 <br />Morcon Construction <br />$369,000 <br />$37,300 <br />$6,500 <br />Merit Construction <br />$483,066 <br />$33,580 <br />$22,425 <br />WHEREAS, the bid of Construction Results Corporation, of Plymouth, Minnesota, in <br />the amount of $298,440 for the construction of said improvements in accordance with the <br />approved plans and specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, the lowest qualified bid is believed to reflect current market prices for labor <br />and materials; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Engineer recommends the lowest responsible bid be awarded; not to <br />include Bid Alternate #1 and to include Bid Alternate #2 for a total bid price of $303,440. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br />1) The Mayor and City Administrator hereby accept to enter into a contract with said lowest <br />responsible bidder for the construction of said improvements for and on behalf of the City <br />of Ramsey; not including Bid Alternative #1 and including Bid Alternative #2. <br />2) The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all other <br />bidders the deposits made with their bids at such time that a contract has been executed. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />RESOLUTION #14-10-212 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
