the City did receive a letter, dated March 8, 2004, opposing any business or commercial use on <br />this residential property (this same property owner also had submitted .a letter regarding the <br />Conditional Use Permit request that has since been recalled). During the March 11, 2004 <br />meeting, City Staff recommended that the interim use permit be approved without any major site <br />improvements, such as fencing or a minimum parking surface, which could encourage a future <br />owner of this property to utilize this area for outside storage. <br /> <br />The following items are enclosed for your information: <br /> <br />a) Site location map <br />b) Aerial view of property showing location of trailers <br />c) Letter from neighboring property owner regarding the original Conditional Use Permit <br /> request, dated January 31, 2004 : <br />d) Letter from neighboring resident dated February 9, 2004 <br />e) Letter from neighboring property owner dated March 8, 2004 <br />f) Board of Adjustments meeting minutes dated February 5, 2004 <br />g) Planning Commission meeting minutes dated February 5, 2004 <br />h) Proposed Findings of Fact Resolution <br />i) Proposed Interim Use Permit <br /> <br />Notification: <br /> <br />In accordance with State Statute, Staff attempted to send notification of the interim use permit <br />request and public hearing to all owners of property within 350 feet of the Subject Property. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />The subject parcel is 1.36 acres in size and is zoned R-1 Rural Developing. The area in which <br />the two trailers are currently located does have some natural screening. This screening consists <br />of several mature pines as well as the five (5) evergreen trees that the Rockows installed this past <br />year. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />The Planning Commission recommended that the City Council approve the interim use permit <br />request. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to adopt Resolution #04-03- adopting Findings of Fact #~ relating to Jeff and <br />Barbara Rockow's request for an interim use permit to allow for outside storage of commercial <br />equipment in the front yard of a residential property. <br /> <br />-and- <br /> <br /> <br />
