CASE <br /> <br />ADOPT FIVE YEAR STRATEGIC PLANNING GOALS <br /> By: James E. Norman, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On February 2 - 3, 2004, the City Council along with its Management Team, participated in a <br />City Leadership Strategic Planning Workshop facilitated by Carl Neu, Jr. of Neu & Company. <br />The workshop included leadership visioning and defining strategic focus areas. By the second <br />day, the group defined seven high-priority goals. The Council then directed staff to develop <br />action steps for each goal (attached). The goals and action steps were reviewed by the City <br />Council in a work session held on March 1, 2004. The Council considered action on the Five <br />Year Strategic Planning Goals during the Council meeting of March 9, 2004; however, due to a <br />number of changes of the language, the Council asked that the item be tabled until the Council <br />meeting of March 23, 2004. <br /> <br />Once the Five Year Strategic Planning Goals and Action Steps are approved, staff will be asked <br />to review the goals and action steps with the City Council on a periodic basis. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to adopt Five-Year Strategic Planning Goals and Action Steps. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br /> <br />CC 03/23/04 <br /> <br /> <br />
