I
I
I

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Reimann, Schlueter
and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Sorteberg.

COUNCIL OLD BUSINESS

Case 010: P~quest For A Building Permit; Case Of Mr. Gene Walters of Waltek,
Inc.:

I
i
i
I
I
I
I-

Mr. Gene Walters and Mr. Steve Klein were present.

Mr. Steve Klein stated that Mr. Walters must build a 19'6" x 30' addition to
his existing building to house the two generators required for the methane
gas project. Mr. Walters has not yet received the signed building plans
from the architectural engineers which the City requires. There is record
of an easement from Bullick which will now be situated under the proposed
addition. Mr. Klein requested Council's approval to a building permit
contingent upon the easement being resolved with Mr. Bullick and Mr. Walters
providing signed architectural plans.

Councilmember Schlueter inquired as to why this addition to the existing
building wasn't addressed at the time plans for the gas project were prepared.

Mr. Walters replied that the two generators originally planned could have
been housed in the existing building, but further into the project, it was
decided to go with much larger generators and there is not enough flSor
space in the existing building.

Mr. Schnelle stated that he has talked with Mr. Bullick and Mr. Bullick is
confused as to ~ust what is required and there is also a problem of Waltek's
approach way being located on Bullick property.

I
i
I
I
i
I
I
I

Mr. Klein replied that historically, that approach was there even before
Mr. Walters took over the property. There would be no problem in Mr. Walters
realigning his driveway.

Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Van Wagner to
approv~ of Mr. Gene Walters request for a building permit contingent upon
Mr. Walters complying with all City requirements, providing signed
architectural drawings and resolving the easement issue with Mr. Bullickj

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilme~mbers Reimann, Schlueter
and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Sorteberg.

Case ~9.b: Landfill Lawsuit Issue -

City Attorney Goodrich stated that a resolution is needed requesting a
different configuration for Site P, should it come to the City and if Council
so desires.

City Engineer Raatikka present overhead projections of the existing Site P
as proposed by the County and Metro Council and alternative configurations
A,B,C and D.

Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Mayor Gamec to adopt
Resolution #83-206 opposing the proposed Site P configur&tion and requesting
consideration of Alternate A as Site P configuration.
