I I I I I i I i I I I I I I I I I I I RESOLUTION t83- WHEREAS, the 1969 State Legislature passsed a Shoreland Management Act (Laws of Minnesota 1969, Chapter 777) to provide guidance for the wise development of shorelands in unincorporated areas; and WHEREAS, the 1973 State Legislature amended the act to also include municipalities (Laws of Minnesota 1973, Chapter 379); and WHEREAS, the Shorelands Management Act requires the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to promulgate regulations under Minnesota Statutes Chapter 105 which shall be implemented through county and municipal land use controls; and WHEREAS, the primary goal of the Shorelands Management Act is to protect and enhance the quality of surface waters and conserve the economic and natural resource values of the shorelands of public waters; and WHEREAS, the DNR on October 5, 1983 submitted to the City of Ramsey a preliminary shoreland management classification list, which would be governed by the City's future shoreland management ordinance; and WHEREAS, the City has reviewed the preliminary shoreland management classification list and submits the attached Comments & Proposed Changes to the Department of Natural Resources Preliminary Classifications of Shorelands in Ramsey, Minnesota. NOW THEREFORE, Be It Resolved By The City Council, City of Ramsey, Anoka County, State of Minnesota as follows: 1) The following changes be made to the DNR's preliminary classification of shorelands in Ramsey, Minnesota: ao Proposed Shoreland ~2-111, Jeglens Marsh, be deleted from the list of shorelands. Proposed Shoreland ~2-112, Pond in Peltzer Addition, be reclassified as recreational development waters. Proposed Shoreland ~2-113, Sunfish Lake, be reclassified as recreational development waters. Proposed Shoreland #2-114, Pond North of Ramsey Terrace, be reclassified as general development waters and the area along County Ditch No. 43 lying north of the pond be deleted from the list of shorelands.
