Three bids were recetved for the construction of the
pipeline, with the low bld submitted by Minnesota Limited [ncorporated.
The btd~ requested three alternates - a three tnch ptpe, four inch and
six tnch pipe. Minnesota Ltmtted was low for all three stzes as Indicated
in the attached bid tabulation sheet.

Th'roe proposals were received for the generator and related equipment.
Because of the technical nature of this equipment, the Landfill Board
considered the alternate that Included engine to be cooled by engine
mounted radiator - no heat recovery options. Bids are as follows:

Ztegler, Inc. - $149,122,00 - delivery 24-26 weeks

Northern Power Products - $142,186.00 - delivery approximately 20 weeks

Perennial Engineering -
1. Two 105KW generators - total price $112,954.00 - delivery, lO
weeks

Barr Engineering and County staff recommended that the Landfill Board
enter into negotiations with Perennial Engineering for the purchase of
two 105KW generators and related equipment at the proposed price of
$112,954.00 and to enter into agreement with Minnesota Limited for the
construction of'the st~ inch pipeline at the total cost of $109,450.00.

Barr Engineering'recommended the six, inch pipeline based on its ability
to provide sufficient amount of g~s to thme or four companies consuming
the amount of power of Waltek wtthout Installing a compressor at the
1andft11 which would be more costly. The Landfill Board recommended
that Ttm Yantos negotiate with Waltek regarding the difference between
the two 85KW generators at $104,900.00 and the two 105KW generators at
$112,954.00. Although the project would work with the two 85KW generators~?'
we felt that Waltek should have the option to pay the difference;to
receive the extra power.

Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity Employer
