OLUTION ~83-165 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey Economic Development Commission, City of Ramsey <br />Anoka County, State of Minnesota requested that the Ramsey City Council appoint <br />a City Airport Commission to study the feasibility of North Gateway Airport be- <br />coming a municipal airport; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council, City of Ramsey, Anoka County, State of <br />Minnesota, did appoint an Airport Commission consisting of nine members on <br />August 23, 1983, as follows: <br /> <br /> Nam__e Term Expiration <br /> <br /> Mr. Don Greenberg one year December 31, 1984 <br /> Mr. Charles Soderholm three year December 31, 1986 <br /> Mr. John Siebert three year December 31, 1986 <br /> Mr. Dennis Donovan three year December 31, 1986 <br /> Mr. Ken Patz two year December 31, 1985 <br /> Mr. William Morrow one year December 31, 1984 <br /> Mr. Jack Ippel two year December 31, 1985 <br /> Mr. Dick Sieber two year December 31, 1985 <br /> M~. Jeanne Moen one year December 31, 1984 <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA <br /> COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) That the task of the above appointed commission will be to study <br /> the feasibility of the presently privately owned airport known as Gateway North <br /> becoming a municipal airport. It is directed that this Commission report to <br /> Council addressing the following areas: <br /> <br /> a) Economic benefit derived from having an airport in the <br /> City. <br /> <br /> b) Cost to upgrade airport if it becomes a municipal airport. <br /> <br /> c) Method of financing the purchase and upgrading of airport <br /> if it is recommended to become a municipal airport. <br /> <br /> d) Impact of operation and maintenance for the City to <br /> operate airport. <br /> <br /> e) Impact on the safety and noise factor if airport is up- <br /> graded. <br /> <br /> f) Will size of planes change from what can presently land <br /> at airport and if larger planes can land what will be the im- <br /> pact regarding safety and noise. <br /> <br /> g) What would be the role of the Vocational School and the <br /> Junior College at the airport.
