Street Surfacing ~. <br /> Acceptance Of Barthel's Rum River Acres Second Addition):' <br /> <br />a) Receiving And Accepting Bid Proposal On Well And Irrigation Equipment - <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka stated that the City was looking at a ballpark <br />figure of $60,000 at one time and the bids have come in at $90,000. <br />City Engineer Raatikka further commented that he has talked with <br />Mr. E.H. Renner and he stated that well drilling costs are very <br />unpredictable - as an example, a well in Champlin was bid at $60,000 <br />and final cost was $38,000. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Schlueter <br />to adopt Resolution #83-172 approving the acceptance of bids on a well <br />for Central Park and awarding bid to E.H. Renner at a cost of $57,055.00. <br />(Please refer to resolution file for Resolution #83-172). <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Councilmember Sorteberg inquired as to how this <br />irrigation system will be paid for. Councilmember Van Wagner stated that <br />the funds would come from Revenue Sharing. Mr. Schnelle stated that <br />these funds are designated to the limit and only $30,000 was budget for <br />the irrigation system, therefore the City would be forced to find an <br />additional $30,000. Councilmember Sorteberg noted that the City only <br />received two bids and he would like to see more. <br /> <br />Councilmember Van Wagner withdraws her motion.
