'1 I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I TO: Park and Recreation Commission FROM: City Staff RE: Park Board Business CASE #1: CASE #2: RAMSEY CENTRAL PARK I was informed by City Engineer Raatikka today of the progress being made in the construction of Ra~sey Central Park. The con- struction started on August 9 and they hope to have the grading finished early next week. The seeding is scheduled to be ¢om~ pleted sometime in September. The City Council has amended the Park Board budget to include the irrigation system for the park. If you would w~ant this in- stalled before winter a recommendation from you to the City Council to go for price quotes, etc. would be in order. Also, if you wish to go ahead with the irrigation system, you may wish to delay the seeding until after it is installed. Also, City Engineer Raatikka has obtained price quotes for ag lime in Central Park. J. L. Sheeley Company was the low bidder with a quote of $10,585.60. The City Council will be acting on this at their regular meeting on Tuesday, August 23, 1983. Park Board Action: Your action will be to recommend to the City Council they either proceed with the irrigation system or hold off on it for a while. If you choose to hold off then you should state your reasons why. PARK DEDICATION FEE: At the July meeting, Mr. Deemer and Mr. Isakson appeared before the Park Board with a suggestion to change the ordinance regard- ing the park dedication fee. The Planning Commission is request- ing this be placed back on their September agenda for further dis- cussion and wants your input. I have placed this on your agenda for any discussion/input/recommendations/etc, you may have for them in regards to this issue.
