Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #2: Appointing Of Person To Serve On Hazardous Waste Commission's <br /> Processing Area Task Force: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he has been trying to contact Mr. Arthur Dunn to <br />see if he is interested in serving on this task'force. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Van Wagner to <br />submit the name of Mr. Arthur Dunn to the Minnesota State Hazardous Waste <br />Board for consideration for appointment to the Processing Area Task Force. <br /> <br />Motion carried. McGinley, Vice President, Dougherty, Dawkins, Strand and Yost - <br />Stated that he represents Prestress Concrete and introduced the President and <br />Vice-President of Prestress. He stated that Prestress corporate plans call <br />for $980,000 expansion of the plant which will involve creating some t0 <br />new jobs over the next year. He further stated that the issue would be that <br />of special obligation and in no way affects Ramsey's borrowing power. The <br />loan can only be repaid by the corporation that is borrowing it. Ramsey <br />would be complying with Federal law by including it's name on the bonds. <br />Industrial revenue bonds to stimulate the economy and create jobs within the <br />city in which they are.used. This process allows the city to pick and choose <br />corporations they would like to see utilize these tax exempt funds. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that there have been some inquiries as to what Prestress <br />is doing with the waste cement and requested that Prestress have an explanation <br />ready at the next regular Council meeting scheduled for April 26, 1983. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to <br />adopt Resolution #83-44 granting preliminary approval and setting public <br />hearing date on the issuance of an industrial revenue bond for Prestress <br />Concrete, Inc. (Pleas~ refer to resolution file for Resolution #83-44). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schlueter and Van Wagner.
