I I TO: Ramsey Park and Recreation Commission FROM: Ramsey City Staff RE: Park and Recreation Business CASE #1: CASE #2: Approve reimbursement for Ramsey Rangers Saddle Club: Last April, 1982, Mr. Roy Shumway of the Ramsey Rangers Saddle Club purchased a 20 foot Franklin Cattle Gate for the horse arena in Traprock Park. He requested reimbursement from the City at that time but was told me must appear before the Park Board and request your approval first. In checking through your past min- utes I have found he has not appeared before you as of yet. Mr. Shumway is now requesting that they be reimbursed for this gate. Park Board Action: Your action will be to approve/disapprove of Mr. Shumway's request to reimburse the Ramsey Rangers Saddle Club for the purchase of a gate for the Traprock Park horse arena. If you recommend disapproval of this request, you should state the reason in your minutes. Development of Central Park: City Engineer Raatikka will be in attendance at your meeting to present to the Park Board the topography on the land in Central Park. He will be presenting some ideas regarding the beginning stages of development. There should be a recommendation made by the Park Board to the City Council on what stage of development you wish to begin with. We can get this placed on the April 26 Council agenda for their approval in calling for plans and specifications to be drawn up. The Park Board should keep in mind they have $73,000 in the 1983 Budget for the devel6pment of Central Park. Over and above that there is $2,000 allocated for fencing in Central Park and $6,000 for creative play equipment for Central Park and ?eltzer Park. The third area you should be looking at would be a five year development plan. This would not have to be done at this meet- lng but some thought should be given in this area for future meetings.
