I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

Mr. Schnelle pointed out that a prospective developer putting in a cold
storage building could be very upset if he got a $30,000 assessment for
sewer and water. On the other hand, the seller of the property could be
very upset if the deals falls through because of knowledge provided to
the prospective buyer.

Commissioner Cox replied that the investor should be smart enough to
inquire about sewer and water.

Mr. Schnelle replied that if City Staff gets direction from Council and
EDC to stay clear of these matters, we will.

Commissioner Cox stated that it is not the responsibility of City Government
to volunteer information that in some cases could be detrimental to the sale.

Chairman Greenberg stated that this case will be on the next EDC agenda for
further discusssion.

Case #6: Inquiry Regarding Industrial Development:

Tabled.

CO~IISSION INPUT

m
m
m
m
m
m
m
m
m
I
m

Mayor Gamec referred to the Methane Gas Project and stated that all contracts
have been signed and all finances have been worked out and project construction
should begin within 30 days. There will be a tour when the project is
operational.

Commissioner Schmidt noted that Mayor Gamec serves on the Charter Commission
and inquired as to their time table.

Mayor Gamec stated that it is a very one-sided committee looking at putting
a charter through. There were 47 people at the public hearing and 28 of
those were City Staff, County Commissioners and State officials. The
Charter Commission has not time table - originally they wanted the charter
completed by Fall of 1983. If their task is accomplished before the first
of 1984, it will be unjust because they have not been able to answer questions.
There are real problems involved that they have not looked at with regards to
financing.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Commissioner Cox and seconded by Commissioner Schneider to adjourn
the regular meeting of the Economic Development Commission.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Greenberg, Commissioners Guy, Muller,
Miller, Schmidt, Schneider, Fults and Cox. Voting No: None. Absent:
Commissioner Sentyrz.

The regular meeting of the Economic Development Comission adjourned at 9:19 a.m.

Respectful ly submitted,

Sylvia Frolik
Secretary

Lloyd G.
