TO~ City Ad~inistrator/Clerk FROM: Building Official RE: Request to move in dwelling DATE: October 21, 1983 After the payment of the $100.00 inspection fee I today inspected a dwell- ing located at 13939 Nightingale Street in the City of Andover that Mr. Tom Sauter is asking to move to Ramsey. ~e is proposing placing the structure o~ Lot 9 Block 4 Hunters Hill Addition. The structure was built in the early 1970~s and has bee~ ~onde~ned ~y the Andover Building Inspector because it moved almost off the foundation durinq last summers wind storm that did considerable damage in that area. The attached garage was completely destroyed in that storm a~d the contractor has indicated that the garage will be replaced. My finding~ on the remainder of the structure are as follows; 1) ~he house has been placed on a ~overs trailer and I found two doors that did not open and twa areas where the sheet rock had cracked. I would not6 that I have observed as much crgcking of sheet rock in dwell- ing units that had never been s~bjected to a storm of this magnitude or been moved.' 2) ~he roof had lost a few shingles and the house should be reroofed, I I 3) The plastic waste and vent plumbing had been broken off so the plumbing should be retested, 4) ~be electrical service did not appear to have ~een pulled to any great extent at all. However, complete testing would be in order if this unit were tQ be relocated in Ramsey. ; I I I I Overall it would be my opinion that this structure is basically sound and I feel it could be moved and made very useful. I feel that the City of Andover ove~ reacted when they condemned the structure and I would recommend granting Mr, Sauters request to move this structure to Lot 9 Block 4 Hunters Hill Additio~ contingent upon his entering into the attached development agreement.
