Councilmember Pearson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #03-12-323 RESOLUTION AMENDING THE POLICY FOR APPOINTING BOARD AND COMMISSION MEMBERS WHEREAS, the City Council would like its practices and written policies for reappointing board and commission members to be consistent. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to amend the Policy for Appointing Board and Commission Members as follows: Section 5. Reapplication process a) Letter of intent Members of City boards and commissions who wish to serve a consecutive term of office must notify the City Council of their intent at least two months before the expiration of the current term of office. To remind the incumbent of the impending deadline, the Human Resources Manager or the Assistant City administrator will notify commission members three months in advance of the expiration of their terms and invite them to complete and submit a letter of interest highlighting accomplishments, personal contributions to the commission and ideas for improving the effectiveness of the commission for review by the evaluation panel. Letters of interest received by the Human Resources Manager or the Assistant City Administrator will be forwarded to the evaluation panel for consideration for appointment .... The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Kurak, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereofi Mayor Gamec Councilmember Pearson Councilmember Kurak Councihnember Cook Councilmember Elvig Councilmember Strommen Councilmember Zimmerman
