Cotmcilmcmber Elvig introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #04-02-050 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING STAFF TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH US <br />LINK FOR LOCAL AND LONG DISTANCE PHONE SERVICE TO CITY OF RAMSEY <br />FACILITIES <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey currently has local and long distance service through <br />several providers, including Qwest, McLeod, and AT&T; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has experienced se~wice problems with both Qwest and McLeod; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, city staff has solicited a proposal from US Link for local and long distance <br />phone service for City Hall facilities which would provide a cost savings of approximately $600 <br />per month and reduce reconciliation of multiple billing statements; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, US Link currently provides phone service to the cities of Andover, Ham <br />Lake, and Blaine in the north metro and favorable reports have been received with regard to their <br />services. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the City Council of the <br />agreement with US Link for <br />facilities. <br /> <br />City of Ramsey authorizes city staff to enter into an <br />local and Long distance service for City of Ramsey <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Strolnmen, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereofi <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councihnember Strommen <br />Councihnember Cook <br />Councihnember Kurak <br />Councilmember Pearson <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />Nolle <br /> <br /> <br />
