Canoes, Kayaks and
<br />Bikes: Free to Use
<br />This summer, be sure to check out the
<br />free canoe, kayak and bike `rentals' available
<br />in the City of Ramsey!
<br />Visit the self - service canoe and kayak
<br />kiosk at Sunfish Lake, located at 6330 Sun -
<br />wood Drive. The kiosk holds two, single -
<br />person, sit -in kayaks and two, three - person
<br />canoes. Paddles and life -vests are also
<br />provided. A `swipe card' is needed to access
<br />the watercraft. You may obtain your swipe
<br />card (which is yours to keep) by visiting the
<br />Engineering Department at Ramsey City
<br />Hall.
<br />The City of Ramsey also provides free
<br />bicycle rentals to residents, local work-
<br />ers and visitors to The COR area. Seven
<br />bicycles (including mens, womens and
<br />youth bicycles), safety helmets, and remov-
<br />able bike baskets, are available for check -out
<br />at the Engineering Department at Ramsey
<br />City Hall during regular business hours
<br />Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to
<br />4:30 pm. Upon visiting the Engineering
<br />Department, you will be given a key to ac-
<br />cess the bicycle locks. Bicycles are located
<br />on the south side of the parking ramp at
<br />City Hall.
<br />To participate in any of the rentals you
<br />must read /sign the liability waiver form and
<br />terms of use agreement. You must also pro-
<br />vide proof of identification and be at least
<br />18 years of age to check out a bicycle or
<br />obtain a swipe card for canoe /kayak rental.
<br />Children are welcome to accompany an
<br />adult.

<br />at Sunfish Lake
<br />Kick off summer with a paddle around Sunfish Lake in a kayak
<br />and find out why kayaking is one of Minnesota's fastest growing
<br />outdoor adventures! In this hour and a half class you will learn how
<br />to paddle correctly, get in and out of a kayak easily and safely, and
<br />how to pack for a day on the water. You will also get an overview of
<br />the City of Ramsey's canoe /kayak rental system, available for free to
<br />residents.
<br />Wear shoes that can get wet and dress in layers for time on the
<br />water. Children ages 5 -16 must be accompanied by a registered
<br />adult. Bring life vests if you have them for the kids. Meet at Sunfish
<br />Lake's Pavilion area (parking is limited, so please consider biking
<br />or carpooling). Please call ahead before registering to determine if
<br />space is available- Maximum 20 people /class.

<br />Anoka County Residents
<br />Four out of five car seats are installed incorrectly! Get yours checked.
<br />Safe Kids Anoka County offers several car seat clinics throughout
<br />the year for Anoka County residents to have their children evaluated
<br />and car seats inspected by trained technicians. Appointments are
<br />required.

<br />booster seat for your child, you may meet the requirements to receive
