Ramsey Economic Develo_~nent Company: and_the roles of Ram~¢y <br />Economic Develo_~entCommission and the Ramsev. Economic Develo~meBt <br />ComDan_v: and.City Staff duties, and Staff time for Ramse_v Economi9 <br />~evelo?ment Company projects.. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle opened the discussion by first addressing Staff's position <br />regarding the Economic Development Company. Mr. Schnelle stated that he does <br />not feel that it is City Staff's place to become involved with the <br />establishment, financial aspects and solicitation of stock in the Ramsey <br />Development Company. City Staff should remain on neutral territory because of <br />their relationship with the citizens and there are qualified persons serving <br />on the Economic Development Commission that are more capable of handling the <br />tasks mentioned above. City Staff can assist in administrative functions such <br />as grant applications, setting up meetings, providing a listing of community <br />businesses, providing tax information, and involvement in legislative matters. <br /> <br />Page 1 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
