Mr. Wagner reported that this subcormnittee has met once and that some 100 <br />shares have been sold to date. Mr. Wagner suggested that the Company set a <br />goal for share sales. Mr. Wagner also suggested that representatives of the <br />Company approach each of the City commissions regarding buying shares in <br />Ramsey's Development Company; Ms. Norris could have this subject placed on each <br />of the commission meeting agendas. <br /> <br />Discussion Reaardin~ Minnesota Da_martment _0~ .Ener_ay- And Economic <br /> Dev~lorm~.nt Fundina Programs-_ <br /> <br />Mr. DeLuca reported that Mr. Hardin was to have met with Mr. A1 Kelly from the <br />Minnesota Department of Energy and Economic Development on Pebruary 13, 1986 <br />but Mr. Kelly found it necessary to cancel the meeting; it will be rescheduled. <br /> <br />Consensus was to table this case. <br /> <br />~isc. ussJon Reaardina Technical Assistance For OrqanJz_inq_ .Ecf)nor~i~. <br /> Develo~ent- In Raiser: <br /> <br />Mr. Hardin had requested that this item be on today's agenda and in his absence <br />the case was tabled by consensus. <br /> <br />~ D{scussJon ReaardJn0Develo_r~_ent_Around.f~ndf]]l Area~ <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner stated that the Promotional Subcommittee, which Terry Miller of <br />Waste of Minnesota, Inc. is a member of, discussed with Mr. Miller the <br />possibility of locating businesses in the area of the landfill that could <br />utilize the power produced by the methane gas at the landfill. At that <br />meeting, Mr. Miller stated that Waste Mangement has a plan in the workings to <br />produce and sell the electricity generated from the methange gas. <br /> <br />~ Qther Business: <br /> <br />Mr. Kurak stated that he has been in contact with two businesses, Midwest <br />Precision and Tri-State Bobcat, that are looking to relocate from their current <br />south Metro location; suggested this Economic Company send a letter inviting <br />those businesses to locate in Ramsey. <br /> <br />Mr. Muller stated that Anoka County Library and Ben Franklin Store are also <br />looking to locate in the Ramsey area and should be encouraged to do so by <br />letter also. <br /> <br />Consensus was that the Promotional Subcommittee should meet with Ms. Norris to <br />formulate a standard letter to be sent to companies that are known to be <br />looking to locate or relocate; the letter should specify that responses should <br />be addressed to Ms. Norris at Ramsey City Hall. Ms. Norris was directed to <br />mail Company Board Members a colmy of that letter that is formulated for review <br />and input at the next Board meeting. 5he process to be followed in issuing <br />those letters will be that any Company member knowing of a prospective incoming <br />business should contact Ms. Norris; she will issue a letter and keep the <br />Economic Development Commission and Economic Development Company up to date <br />regarding letters sent and responses received.
