ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION/ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMPANY <br /> GOAL SETTING/STRATEGIC PLANNING SESSION <br /> CITY OF P. AMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A goal setting/strategic planning session was held on Thursday, September 25, <br />1986 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Don Greenberg, EDC Chairman <br />Glen Hardin, Company President <br />Steve DeLuca <br />Darryl Fults <br />Jack Ippel <br />Tom Kurak <br />Bob Muller <br />Ken Wagner <br />John Vinton, Government Training Service <br />Anne Norris <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Glen Hardin called the session to order at 4:45 p.m. <br /> <br />John Vinton, Government Training Services, explained the process he wanted to <br />use. He stated that he felt one of the questions to be answered was <br />clarification of the role of the Company versus that of the Commission. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ippel stated that he felt that the group needed to differentiate <br />between the roles and activities of the Company and Commission. <br /> <br />Mr. Vintou stated that the group should come up with an inclusive question that <br />would incorporate the goals of each organization. <br /> <br />The group determined the question to be "What activities must be undertaken by <br />the Economic Development Commission and/or Economic Development Company to <br />stimulate economic development?" Participants came up with a list (see <br />attached Exhibit A) of activities and ranked the top five activities for the <br />Company and Commission. The results of the ranking are as follows. <br /> <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COHPAFf <br /> <br />Advise prospective businesses (Item#l) <br />- provide good environment for development <br />- complete inventory of commercial and industrial property <br />- function as resource center <br />- knowledgeable expert in financing programs <br />- assist developers' in understanding City's development requirements <br /> <br /> <br />
