where it has a lot of potential and with the involvement of more <br />stockholders, it can be a viable association. <br /> <br />Mr. Hardin stated that the Company goals and objectives established in <br />October of 1986 focused on promoting and marketing Ramsey in and outside of <br />the city to attract new business and retain existing business and to serve <br />as a liaison between the city and the private business sector. <br /> <br />Cas~ ~2: R~vi~w Company'p Activities In 19~7.: <br /> <br />Mr. Hardin summarized 1987 as follows: <br /> <br />January - Annual stockholders meeting; decided to contract for a study <br />of Hwy. #10 corridor; established guidelines for revolving loan fund. <br /> <br />February - Reviewed bids for Hwy. #10 study; began planning the <br />Business Expo; directing applying for a Ramsey zip code and <br />destination signs (postal department refused zip codes and continuing <br />to pursue destination signs). <br /> <br />March - Council approved the Company's recommendation that Hwy. #10 <br />and County Road #56 serve as the city's destination point for <br />destination sign purposes; issued a letter suggesting Ramsey be <br />considered as a location for another olympic training facility. <br /> <br />April - Reviewed the possibility of a YMCA facility being developed <br />in Ramsey with the State Director of that organization (YMCA funds <br />have been allocated for several other projects); awarded bid for Hwy. <br />#10 study to Barton-Aschman. <br /> <br />May - Established a Revolving Loan Review Committee; discussed <br />confidentiality of Company business, especially as it relates to <br />applications for revolving loan funds. <br /> <br />June - Approved the first revolving loan; participated in a mailer <br />promoting Ramsey's residential areas. <br /> <br />July - Drafted a resolution requesting that the State declare <br />information contained on applications for Ramsey's revolving loan <br />funds is confidential until those loans are made. <br /> <br />August - Met with representative of Business Development Services <br />regarding the availability of that company to assist in promoting <br />economic development, packaging loans and finding suitable locations <br />for businesses. <br /> <br />September - Closed on the first revolving loan. <br /> <br />October - Conducted first annual Business Expo. <br /> <br /> December - Directed that a letter be drafted requesting information <br /> from existing businesses regarding types of complimenting businesses <br /> they would like to see locate in Ramsey. <br /> <br />Cas~ #3: Review Com~any.'~.l~87,A~ Report: <br /> <br /> Economic Development Company/January 13, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 2 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
