PROCEEDINGS OF CITY COUNCIL <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A public hearing in regards to Street Improvement Project #83-2 (167th <br />Avenue NW) was called to order on Tuesday, February 22, 1983 at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. NW, Ramsey, Minnesota, at 8:42 P.M. <br />by Mayor Gamec. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Sue Van Wagner <br />Councilmember A1Sorteberg <br />Councilmember Jeanne Schlueter <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Lloyd Schnelle <br />City Engineer Represented by Larry Koshak/Hakanson & Anderson <br />City Building Official Clayton Berg <br />Reporter Carolyn Thompson <br /> <br />Members Absent: Councilmember Gary Reimann <br /> <br />Mr. Larry Koshak of Hakanson Anderson made a presentation of Street Improvement <br />Project #83-2. <br /> <br />Mr. James Hunt - 16735 Nowthen Blvd. - How do I benefit when I don't even have <br />a driveway onto Nowthen Blvd.? <br /> <br />Mr. Koshak stated that if Mr. Hunt's parcel were subdivided and developed, the <br />lots resulting would have access to a public improved street. <br /> <br />Mr. Hunt replied that he intends to farm and not to develop. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that Mr. Hunt's farmland could apply under Green Acres and <br />assessments would be deferred until Mr. Hunt sells the land. <br /> <br />Marilyn Gallagher - 6905 151st Avenue NW - Commented that Mr. Hunt's land is <br />not subdivided, it is one unit. <br /> <br />Councilmember Van Wagner replied that Mr. Hunt's land has the potential to be <br />subdivided into 4 units and City policy is to assess according to potential. <br /> <br />Douglas Meske - 6920 167th Avenue NW - Inquired why this section of 167th <br />wasn't included in the Jasper street improvement project. He further <br />commented that he was in favor of paving it two years ago, but was never <br />consulted and that he couldn't get any answers at City Hall. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec replied that not paving that portion of 167th two years ago was <br />poor planning on the part of City Council and the City is now looking at <br />paving that portion because of drainage problems. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Schlueter to <br />adjourn the public hearing. <br /> <br />C/February 22, 1983 <br /> Public Hearing <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
