PROCEEDINGS OF CITY COUNCIL <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A public hearing regarding Street Improvement Project #83-16 for 157th Avenue <br />N.W. was called to order by Mayor Gamec at 9:10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, <br />1983 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br /> Members Present: Mayor Thomas Gamec <br /> Councilmember Gary Reimann <br /> Councilmember A1 Sorteberg <br /> Councilmember Jean Schlueter <br /> Councilmember Sue Van Wagner <br /> <br />Also Present: City Engineer Raatikka <br /> <br /> City Engineer Raatikka made a slide presentation of the proposed project. <br /> <br />Mr. Gonyea - 7814 157th Avenue NW - Stated he is opposed to the proposed <br />project. <br /> <br />Jeremy Beck - 157th Avenue NW - Stated that he is opposed to the proposed <br />project. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that blacktop in areas that were not blacktopped by the <br />developer, was brought about by a petition of the homeowners or a development <br />project. The City is looking at continuing the blacktopping into this area <br />because it borders on a development project that could be blacktopped and <br />157th would benefit. <br /> <br />Jerry Brown - 7856 157th Avenue NW - Stated that he contacted the City in <br />mid-May of 1983 and was informed that there weren't any plans for blacktop. <br />Have sold my house and how will a pending $2500 assessment affect that sale. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec replied that would have to be resolved by the realtor and the bank. <br /> <br />Resident - 7610 157th Avenue NW - Stated that there is poor drainage in the <br />area and blacktop would increase the problems. <br /> <br />Pat Eggers - 7930 157th Avenue NW - Stated that there is a bad drainage <br />problem in the area of her lot also and blacktopping should not be performed <br />until the County improves Cty. Rd. #83 and solves those drainage problems. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to <br />adjourn the public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schlueter and Van Wagner.
