to operate a print shop in their garage at 7351 151st Lane for one year. <br />The Brozak's have stated there will be no customers coming to the home. <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended approval of the request. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann suggested requiring a bond or letter of credit to defray the <br />legal costs incurred by the City if the Brozak's refuse to cease the <br />operation in one year. <br /> <br />Council consensus was that requiring a bond should first be researched and <br />then established as a general policy. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to <br />adopt Findings of Fact 0197, amended as follows, relating to Mark and LuAnn <br />Brozak's request for a conditional use permit: (Please refer to findings <br />of fact file for Findings of Fact 0197). <br /> <br />Item #8 - Change to read as follows: 'That the Applicant has stated <br />that the print shop would be a pick-up and delivery business; the <br />majority of the business would be done over the telephone. There <br />would beno drop-in business. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Cox. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to <br />approve Mark and LuAnn Brozak's request for a conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: LuAnn Brozak was present and stated she agrees with <br />the terms in the conditional use permit and guaranteed she will not operate <br />the business for more than one year at her home. Council amended Item #1 <br />of the conditional use permit to indicate an expiration date of March 22, <br />1989. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Sorteberg, DeLuca and Pearson. <br />Voting No: Mayor Reimann. Absent: Councilmember Cox. <br /> <br />Case ~2: Requ_ est For Conditional Use Permit To Construct An Advertisinq <br /> Sign: Case Of Mr. Timothy Shay; <br /> <br />Ms. Norris stated that Mr. Shay is requesting to construct an advertising <br />sign on his vacant property at 6745 138th Avenue N.W.; there is currently <br />a sign existing on the property. Planning and Zoning reconm~nded denial of <br />the request and suggested Mr. Shay change the adcopyon the existing sign. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to <br />adopt Findings of Fact 0198, amended as follows, relating to Mr. Timothy <br />Shay's request for a conditional use permit: (Please refer to findings of <br />fact file for Findings of Fact 0198.) <br /> <br />Add Item #20 to read: 'That the subject to be advertised on the sign <br />will not be the principal activity on the site.' <br /> <br />Motion carried.
