Commission consensus is that the election polling places will be the <br />three regular polling places already established in Ramsey and not <br />reduced to one common polling place. <br /> <br />Commissioner Gamec stated that the two time publishing costs of the <br />charter in a legal newspaper will cost from $700-$1000. There will <br />also be about a $90 charge for publishing two notices of the election. <br /> <br />Commissioner Data stated that the 'Ramsey Resident' would have been <br />the perfect way to inform citizens of the charter summary and is there <br />a possibility of this publication being resumed. <br /> <br />Commissioner Gamec stated that it was very doubtful and not to count <br />on it. <br /> <br />Commissioner Gamec stated that he has now reworked the Charter Commission <br />Budget down to about $3500-$4000. <br /> <br />Commissioner Bauerkemper stated that she has talked with Mr. Bill Dorn <br />and he stated that a $500 legal allowance would be plenty. <br /> <br />2. Status Of Leqal Fee Error Correction - Commissioner Bauerkem~er: <br /> <br />Commissioner Bauerkemper stated that the initial legal fees incurred <br />during the forming of the Charter Commission have been removed from the <br />Charter Commission Budget. <br /> <br />3. Summary Of Charter Commission Expenditures Through. July - Commissioner <br /> Bauerkemper: <br /> <br />Commissioner Bauerkemper stated that the only costs incurred thus far <br />to the Charter Commission are $30 postage and stenographer fees. The <br />City Accountant is attempting to work out a procedure by which the <br />Charter Commission can receive monthly statements of their expenditures <br />but if this cannot be accomplished the Charter Commission Budget can <br />be pulled from the Council agenda that is provided at the 4th Tuesday <br />of the month Council meeting. <br /> <br />Chairman Heitman requested that Commissioner Bauerkemper strive for <br />obtaining a monthly statement of Charter Commission expenditures for <br />the Charter Commission information. <br /> <br />B. Information Committees <br /> <br />1. Public Opinion Committee - Commissioners Sieber and Buchanan: <br /> <br />Commissioner Sieber stated that he and Chairman Heitman attended a~ <br />meeting of the Economic Development Commission and brought EDC up to <br />date as far as the Charter Commission is concerned. Boards and <br />commissions were discussed specifically at this ~eeting a~d;.Commissioner <br />Fults was in favor of commissions having more power but also felt that <br />it was best for elected officials to appoint their advisors.
