Motion by Commissioner Netzloff and seconded by Commissioner Nelson to adopt the <br />report as amended. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Steffen, Commissioners Netzloff, Nelson and <br />Swokowski. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Goode, Marn, Stretar and <br />Donovan. <br /> <br />Case #3: Accept Resignation of Barbara Graen <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Nelson and seconded by Commissioner Netzloff to accept the <br />resignation of Barbara Graen from the Charter Commission but to not fill such vacancy <br />until Ivlay 12, 1993 when the other terms are up. This would m~e it a full term. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Steffen, Commissioners Nelson, Netzloff and <br />Swokowski. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #4: Consider Advertising to Fill Vacancies on the Charter <br /> Commission <br /> <br />The Charter Commission directed City Staff to indicate to City Council that there will be at <br />least two vacancies to be filled in May 1993 for the Charter Commission. <br /> <br />COMMISSION INPUT <br /> <br />1 ) Cigarette Machines <br /> <br />Commissioner Netzloff inquired if there is an ordinance concerning cigarette machines in <br />the City of Ramsey <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated that the State law governs Such machines, although some <br />cities restrict where cigarette machines can be placed. <br /> <br />Commissioner Netzloff indicated he would like the City to have some say where cigarette <br />machines are concerned. <br /> <br />2) Next Charter Commission Meeting <br /> <br />Chairperson Steffen announced the next regular Charter Commission meeting will be the <br />third Thursday in March, 1993. <br /> <br />3) Agenda Items <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated the Charter Commissioners could start on page 1 of the <br />charter and "convert it into the English language". <br /> <br />It was suggested each Commissioner review the Charter and comment on areas that should <br />be discussed by the Commission. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Netzloff and seconded by Commissioner Swokowski to direct <br />the Finance Staff to review Section 7 of the Charter and comment on its workability and <br />recommend changes if needed. <br /> <br />Charter Commission/November 19, 1992 <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
