Case #3: Review of City Charter <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder stated that he has reviewed the City Charter up to Chapter 6 <br />and there is nothing significant he would recommend changing. He stated that Finance <br />Officer Helling has given her notice and is trying to "clean up" a lot of things before she <br />leaves; therefore, she has not had a chance to review Section 7, but will do so prior to the <br />next Charter meeting. <br /> <br />Chairperson Steffen stated he does not find the Charier particularly hard to understand. <br /> <br />Commissioner Donovan stated it is a document and documents always take some stud),. <br />He felt if changes were made, the intent may also be changed. <br /> <br />Commissioner Swokowski also felt with some studying, the Charter was fairly easy to <br />understand. <br /> <br />Chairperson Steffen stated that the Mayor and Council have opportunity to investigate the <br />Charier. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder stated that Staff does very little without some Committee or Council review. <br /> <br />Chairperson Steffen stated that the relationship between Staff and Council is one of the <br />fundamentals that came out of this document and unless someone says it's not working <br />well, it will probably remain as is. Chairperson Steffen stated he would rather deal with <br />areas of the Charter as someone feels the), are a problem rather than looking to find a <br />problem. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Donovan and seconded by Commissioner Goode to adjourn the <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Steffen, Commissioners Donovan, Goode, <br />Netzloff and Swokowski. Voting No: None.
