Case gl <br /> <br />CAPITAL OUTLAY REQUESTS NOT FUNDED IN THE <br />1993 GENERAL FUND BUDGET <br /> By: Sandra Ashley Helling, Finance Officer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At the Finance Committee meeting of February 23, 1993, there was a general discussion of the 1992 <br />General Fund revenue and expenditures. Revenues exceeded budget by a net of $209,000 and <br />expenditures are within budget. Therefore, staff suggested the Finance Committee may want to <br />recommend a 1992 budget amendment which transfers the favorable balance to the City's Equipment <br />Fund. This would then provide for capital purchases that Council may want to consider for 1993 or <br />designate for future years. <br /> <br />At this evening's meeting a summary of responses to priority ranking of certain capital requests not <br />funded in the 1993 budget will be presented for your review. <br /> <br />Attached: <br /> <br />A memo to department heads and supervisors asking for their ranking of certain 1993 capital requests not <br />funded. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />If members of the Finance Committee would like to participate in the request ranking, please give me a <br />call and I will include with the summary. <br /> <br />While the Council can amend the budget to transfer out monies to the Equipment Fund without detailing <br />items specifically funded (in other words, not make a decision as to how or when the money will be <br />used), members of the Finance Committee and Council did express an interest in funding some items <br />should additional dollars become available. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Will be available at the meeting. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br />Based on discussion. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />F~nance Officer <br /> <br />FC: 03/09/93 <br /> <br /> <br />
