He
informed Council that the Budget Committee had reviewed it earlier this evening and the following
amendments were suggested:
1) Regarding mileage rate - remove the IRS rate and replace it with 24¢ per mile; and
2) Regarding use of City vehicles for lunch breaks, etc., the rationale for allowing the use of the
vehicle had been discussed and the Budget Committee felt it was more appropriate to state one mile
within the City boundary as opposed to five miles. This means if an employee is out doing
inspections, running City errands, etc., they would be able to stop somewhere to get lunch within
one mile of the City boundary instead of having to come back to CiD, Hall, pick up their own
vehicle and then go to lunch.

City Council/February 1i, 1992
