7 <br /> <br />Motion bv Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to recommend that <br />City Council adopt the resolution appointing the firms of Randall, Dehn & Goodrich and Holmes <br />& ~raven for the >,ears 1992, 1993 and 1994. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Hardin and Peterson. Voting No: Councilmen'~ber <br />Bever. (Reason - She has reservations about placing a ceiling on the prosecution fees and also <br />about three-year contracts.) <br /> <br />Case #3: Fire Department Officers' Pay- 1991 <br /> <br />Finance Officer Helling stated the lXire Department is requesting a distribution other than wha[ was <br />approved in 199l for thc: annual salaries for officers; however, the amount of money remains the <br />same. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding the increase in the number of positions that are receiving annual <br />salaries and the concern that this will also cause an increase in the ,,,,,age figure. <br /> <br />The Fire Chief was directed to do a five-year budget plan and submit it to the Budget Committee. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to grant the 1991 <br />request, as amended, for distribution of the Fire Department Officers' pay. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councitmembers Peterson, Beyer and Hardin. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #10: Fire Department Request to Purchase n Generator <br /> <br />Finance Officer Helling stated that the Fire Depa.r~ment's request for a generator in the amount of <br />$1,200 was funded in the 1992 budget. She explained that the current generator for the pumper <br />has failed and would be extremely expensive to repair. Because this generator operates the <br />auxiliary lighting and electrical (cutting tools, etc.) for the pumper, replacement as soon as possible <br />is essential, l~/h-s. Helling stated that Chief Griffin has located a generator for the purchase price of <br />S1,000.00. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Beret to authorize the Fire <br />Department to proceed with the purchase of a generator for a noT-to-exceed purchase pace of <br />$1,200.00. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Hardin, Beret and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #4: Utilization of' City Vehicles <br /> <br />Finance Officer Helling reported that Council had inquired how CiD, vehicles are being used. She <br />noted who has City vehicles and what they are used for. /v'zrs. Helling stated there is a ,mileage and <br />maintenance log kept on all the Adrninisn'ative vehicles. <br /> <br />Councilmember Bever stated she has a real problem with City cars being used for personal <br />business. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hardin stated his concern is the number of vehicles being taken home by <br />employees and recommended that all vehicles stay on Cit.',, property at night. With regard to <br />evening seminars, etc, he suggested the employee use his/her own car and get reimbursed for <br />mileage. He stated that Mr. Jankowski's situation is different as his vehicle is considered, par.; of <br />his salary.
