Hartley: It is my pl=~ure to accept your offer to join the stmff of the City of Ramsey as your fzrst Cit'3' Engineer. The professional growth offered by your city as it grows and expands is a challenge which ! eagerly accept. As we discussed in our telephone conversation, my starting date is July 31, 1990. The compensation option I have chosen is a beginning salary of $42,000 annually plus $1,0043 moving expenses. Additionally, as terms of my employment we ag;reed that I would have use of a city vehicle for travel to and from work, exclusive of long distance travel. Upon initial employment, my work week would be four days, allowing me to commute between Ramsey and Fort AtkSnson until my family is able to join me. Also, I understand that I may expect two weeks vacation during my fzrst year of employment. Following our telephone conversation, some additional questions came to mind. What is the city policy regarding professional education and attendance at conferences and payment for professional organizations and re~strations? Secondly, may I please have a clarification of the Minnesota Public Employees Retirement Association plan, in particular the amount of contribution by both the city and employee. My final inquiry is in regard to health insurance. Would my family be able to seek medical services in Fort Attdnson and still be covered under your plan?
