CASE

REVIEW NON-COMPLIANCE OF ANOKA AREA ICE ARENA ASSOCIATION, INC.
WITH REGARD TO LAWFUL GAMBLING
By: Jessie L. Hart, Finance Officer

BACKGROUND:

The attached letter was sent certified to Mr. Robert Lenius, Gambling Manager for the Anoka Area Ice
Arena Association, lnc. on August 6, 1993. This was the third time that this and additional information
was being requested. The letter basically informs the Gambling Manager of non-compliance with the
City's Lawful Gambling Ordinance and what needs to take place for the organization to come into
compliance.

A copy of this letter was forwarded to the Gambling Control Board and to City Attorney, Bill Goodrich.
Bill followed up with a phone call to me suggesting that a copy also be forwarded to Mr. Ron Berg,
President of the Anoka Area Ice Arena Association, Inc. As of the preparation of this case, I have heard
nothing from Mr. Lenius or Mr. Berg in conjunction with the non-compliance of the organization.

COMM1TrEE ACTION:

None required - based on discussion.

Review Checklist:

City Administrator
Finance Officer
