CASE # 1 REVIEW RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE INTERVIEWING PANEL BY: Kay McAIoney, Personnel Coordinator and Dave Griffin, Fire Chief Background: On April 7, 1993 a panel consisting of Personnel Coordinator Kay McAloney, Fire Chief Dave Griffin and Assistant Fire Chief Dean Kapler reviewed the applications and interviewed three individuals interested in the position of Volunteer Fire Fighter with the City of Ramsey. The panel recommends to the Fire Board that two of the three applicants be offered the position of Volunteer Fire Fighter for daytime availability and further recommend that the applications of the remaining applicant's application be retained for future vacancies as night availability becomes needed. The Interviewing Panel would also like to recommend that one of the applicants interviewed last month be offered the position of Volunteer Fire Fighter and the remaining applicant remain on the list for future openings. As the Fire Department is currently seeking applicants for daytime fire fighting, those applicants with the most time available and the most flexible schedule received primary consideration. As more applications for the positions are received, the panel will again meet to interview to f'fll the remaining position. Applications for the three recommended applicants have been attached. Recommendation: To approve the recommendations of the interviewing panel and offer the position of Volunteer Fire Fighter to Karen Nevison, Kelly Hicks and Alien Stafki. Board Action: To approve/not approve the recommendations of the interviewing panel and forward those recommendations to the City Council at their next meeting.
