1993 WAGES
By:

AND BENEFITS FOR EXEMPT EMPLOYEES
Ryan Schroeder, City Administrator

CASE

Background:

During the Special City Council meeting held on January 6, 1993 there were discussions regarding
the 1993 wages and benefits for Exempt employees. Concerns were raised during the meeting
regarding the correct market comparison for Auspos, Gomez, Gustafson, and Jankowski. Since
that meeting I have reviewed the job number that each of the Exempt personnel. A meeting was
held with the Exempt personnel on Monday, February 8, 1992 to discuss my new
recommendation.

With this case I have included a copy of the Stanton job title and number that each Exempt person's
market range is compared to with a description of the duties, qualifications and salary information
for each position.

Attached is a copy of my proposal for the Exempt personnel based on the similar package of the
Negotiations Committee's discussions on the AFSCME bargaining unit contract for 1993. There
would be an increase in payroll of 3.88%, with a minimum increase of 2.25% - with the difference
in lump sum, and an increase in the monthly contribution for health and life insurance of $15.00
from $250 to $265 monthly.

A Time Spent Profile (TSP) has been given to Dave Gustafson with instructions to complete and
return to Personnel Coordinator Kay McAloney, per the request of the Negotiating Committee.

Recommendation:

City Staff recommends adoption of the exempt package as presented, including the increase to
$265.00 for the monthly contribution for health and life insurance.

Committee Action:

To approve/not approve adoption of the exempt package and increase the monthly health and life
insurance contribution to $265.00 effective January 1, 1993 and to forward the recommendation to
City Council.

Review Checklist:

City Administrator
Personnel Coordinator

NC: 02/09/93

Copies also distributed to:

· '-Police Chief
Finance Officer
City Engineer
Public Works Supervisor
Sergeant
Senior Accountant
Recording Secretary
