Notes

Adequate topsoil drarnatic~ly reduces the need for irrigation.

There are dozens of volunteer red cedar (juniperus virginiana) located in the proposed field
and parxing areas. These are very hardy and amenable to mechanical u'ansplantation.

The availability of methane may provide for a innovative and economical park security
lighting system. State or federal funding may be available.

A suitable fence should be placed along the entire south side of the recreation area. A 42'
chainlink or similar may be prudent along 153rd Avenue to direct visitors to crossing
points and to minimize conflicts. Any fence should provide for wildlife movement.

Directly south of the pond is the most significant bittersweet "colony" (celastrus scandens)
in Ramsey and perhaps Anoka Count),. This small area could be restricted to park visitors,
providing a nesting habitat and a location for displaced wildlife to harbor.
