INSPECTION REPORT- CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT COMPLIANCE <br />DANNY'S ALUMINUM PROCESSING, INC. <br />14050 BASALT ST. N.W. <br /> JANUARY 6, 1993 <br /> <br />P~rsons Present: <br /> <br />Ryan Schroeder, City Administrator <br />Sylvia Frolik, Zoning Administrator <br /> <br />Afterburners were to have been installed on each melt furnace no later than March 15, <br />1991. <br /> <br />Both of the afterburners are installed, however only one is operational. Until MPCA <br />completes their review and approves of the fa'st afterburner, the second afterburner cannot <br />be put into operation. The status is that one furnace runs on the afterburner and the other <br />furnaces runs on the baghouse until the second afterburner is approved. Mr. Karst's <br />application to MPCA is in process. <br /> <br />Disassembly of engines and transmissions is prohibited. <br /> <br />The disassembly of engines and transmissions line has been shut down. <br /> <br />Disassembly of feedstock is permitted only within opaquely screened areas or within <br />building. <br /> <br />All disassembly of feedstock was being conducted within the fenced and screened yard. <br /> <br />Storage of materials which are used in or result from the processing operation is permitted <br />on site providing that the stockpiles are properly contained and screened from adjoining <br />properties and city sn-eets. <br /> <br />The stockpiles continue to be at a reduced height and repairs and improvements have been <br />made to the containment and screening. The miscellaneous items that were being stored <br />outside the fenced and screened yard along the building front had been removed. The items <br />on the adjacent property to the south that belonged to Danny's Aluminum were in the <br />process of being removed. <br /> <br />Ail materials with oil residue shall be stored within leakproof containers to minimize <br />potential stormwater runoff contamination. <br /> <br />Duwayne Konewko from Anoka County Environmental Services inspected Danny's <br />Aluminum and has reported to me that M.r. ~arst is in compliance with this item. <br /> <br />The outside storage of debris or materials not used in the operation and inoperable vehicles <br />and equipment shall not ~ permitted. <br /> <br />There is no outside storage of materials not relating to the operation. <br /> <br />No hazardous wastes as defined by EPA or PCA shall be burned, stored or handled at the <br />faciliB,. <br /> <br />.According to Duwavne Konewko, Mr. Karst is in compliance with this term. <br /> <br /> <br />
