JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT <br /> <br /> Tills JOINT I'OWERS AGREEMENT, made and entered into between the undersigned <br />local unit of government (herein 'municipality") and the County of Anoka (herein "Count3'"), each <br />acting by and through its governing Ix)dy, pursuant to Minn. Stat. {7471.59 providing for the joint <br />exercise of powers. <br /> <br />V',TI?qESSETH: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Count}, and the municipality joined together with other local <br />governmental units located within Anoka Count}, by joint powers agreement to form the Anoka <br />County Joint Law Enforcement Council; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, thc Anoka County Joint Law Enforcement Council has recommended <br />implementation of a mobile data terminal communication system in Anoka Count3, and Anoka <br />County is in the proce~ of such implementation; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Anoka County has agreed to purchase one mobile data terminal for each law <br />enforcement agency participating in the Anoka County Joint Law Enforcement Council and is <br />willing to act as purchasing agent for the municipality for any additional mobile data terminal <br />units the municipality chooses to request; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual agreements contained herein and in <br />exercise o[ the power granted by Minn. Stat. §471.59, the parties to this agreement do mutually <br />agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. PURPOSE <br /> <br />The parties agree that they have joined together for the purpose of providing for the <br />purchase of mobile data terminals. The parties acknowledge that Anoka County has a <br />joint powers agreement with Hennepin County which will permit the County to purchase <br />mobile data terminal units under advantageous terms of a Hennepin County contract <br />which terms are available if purchase commitment is made prior to March 6,' 1993. <br /> <br />2. TERM <br /> <br />This agreement shall begin effective February 23, 1993 and end effex:tive December 31, <br />1993, unless terminated earlier by either party, with or without cause, upon thirty days <br />written notice to the other party. <br /> <br />3. MOBILE DATA TERMINALS PURCHASE <br /> <br />The County agrees to act as purchasing agent for the municipality for mobile data <br />terminal units requested in writing by the chief law ,enforcement officer of the <br />municipality. The costs for any mobile data terminal units the municipality chooses to <br />purchase shall be the responsibility of the municipality. Anoka County will provide <br />information on the total cost amount of requested units tO be paid by the municipality and <br />the date by which funds for payment of the cost amount must be received by the County. <br /> <br /> <br />
