Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #93-02- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HOLMES & GRAVEN TO REPRESENT THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY IN LAWSUITS COMMENCED BY JOHN STARKS AND <br />CHRISTOPHER FIELDS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has been named, along with 35 other municipalities <br />and the Minnesota Police Recruitment System (MPRS), as a defendant in two lawsuits commenced <br />by John Starks and Christopher Fields; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ the Minnesota Police Recruitment System has retained the firm of Holmes <br />& Graven to defend it in the lawsuits; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey believes that it is in its best interest to defend the case <br />jointly with MPRS. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />t) That Holmes & Graven is authorized to represent it in the lawsuits commenced by John <br /> Starks and Christopher Fields. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this <br />the 9th day of February, 1993. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />City Administrator <br /> <br /> <br />
