The remainder goes to older areas of the <br />county where there is more need. <br /> <br />Dollars loaned to households results in a 10-year lien which is forgiven after that period if the <br />family remains in the house that long or longer. If not, it is all repaid in the first five years with a <br />sliding scale of repayment after that. <br /> <br />The rehab work is generally for code work such as roof repair, furnace, septic, well, <br />weatherization and energy improvements.
