CASE <br /> <br />ENVIRONMENTAL EXPO/TREE BOOK ORDER <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Commission participated in the 2003 Environmental Expo. Chair Person Johns asked <br />Staffto reserve a table for May 1, 2004. The reservation has been submitted. The exhibit <br />time runs from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Assi~m~rnents should be made for staffing the table. <br />Staff will prepare the following for the expo. <br /> <br />For the display board: · Large color map of Ramsey's park and trails <br /> · Outdoor meeting schedule - nicely typed up to display on the board. <br /> · Neighborhood Park District Map to display on the board. <br /> <br />To have on hand: · 5-Year Cfi' Plan Overview, and a few copies of the 2004/2005 Cfi' projects - will we <br /> see anything with this by April? <br /> · Aerial view photo book <br /> · Town Center Park information/renditions <br /> · Alpine Park rendition, if complete <br /> · Master Trail Plan, ifcomplete <br /> · Lawful gambling Grant program/applications <br /> · If you need it, applications for summer help <br /> · Handouts, flyer on new lawn fertilizer law <br /> <br />A related matter is the tree books. Last year $1300 from the Lawful Gambling Frmd was <br />spent for 500 tree books. This is $2.60/copy. The supply is almost depleted. Staff was polled <br />regarding the effectiveness of the books. <br /> <br />Department Comments <br /> <br />Community Development <br /> <br />Parks <br /> <br />Very useful, the books are included in the <br />new resident packet and make it easier <br />when visiting with a resident about <br />landscaping. <br /> <br />The Books are a cheap and useful resource. <br />Staff recommends ordering a new supply <br />of the books. <br /> <br />Commission should establish a schedule for manning the table at the Enviromnental Expo. <br />Commission Action: <br /> <br />Motion to approve/deny ordering a new supply of the tree books. <br /> <br />P&R: 04/08/04 <br /> <br />57 <br /> <br /> <br />
