Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ~i~93- 03- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO <br />MAKE APPLICATION AND ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE <br />OF MINNESOTA FOR GRANT ASSISTANCE FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />UPDATING THE SHORELAND MANAGEMENT ORDINANCE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State, as provided by Minnesota Statutes 103F.201-221 and Minnesota <br />Rules parts 6120.2500 through 6120.3900 pertaining to Statewide Standards for "Management of <br />Shoreland Areas"; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State is authorized by the Laws of 1991, Chapter 254, Section 5, <br />Subd. 3 to provide grant assistance for cities to adopt a shoreland management ordinance <br />consistent with Statewide standards. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has received notification from the Department of <br />Natural Resources that its shoreland ordinance must be updated by September 1, 1994; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has determined that updating the Shoretand Ordinance <br />will require expenditure of funds, at a minimum, in the following areas: Planning consultants, <br />engineering fees and publication costs. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />I) <br /> <br />That subject to the available funding, it is hereby requested by the City of Ramsey that an <br />agreement be entered into by the State of Minnesota, acting by and through the <br />Commissioner of Natural Resources and the City of Ramsey, to provide grant money <br />assistance up to $5,000.00 matching fund dollars, for the purposes of upgrading the <br />shoreland management ord/nance consistent with Statewide standards. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized to execute any and all <br />documents necessary relating to this grant program. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />That the funding source for the City's share of the cost (estimated to be $3,000 - $3,500) to <br />update the shoreland management ordinance shall be the City's General Fund. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this <br />the 23rd day of March, 1993. <br /> <br /> <br />
