This project includes minor acquisition of bikeway/walkway right-of-way. The <br />City currently owns a water/sewer utility easement which will be expanded to allow <br />for the bikeway/walkway. This will not be a controversial action and has been <br />contemplated within subdivision development agreements. <br /> <br />Projects with an assured local (noel federal funds) match itl excess' of 20 <br />percent. <br /> <br />Improvement of this project area is the top priority of the Cities of Ramsey and Anoka. <br />Transportation improvements in this corridor have received priority ratings of the Anoka <br />Parks Commission and Git3' Council and also the Ramsey Parks and Recreation <br />Commission, Road and Bridge Committee and City Council. Project related improvements <br />are programmed by the Cities of Anoka and Ramsey and the Minnesota Department of <br />Transportation. Recent transportation improvements (since 1991) have been made by <br />Anoka County and the Cities of Ramsey and Anoka. Therefore, the Cilies ol' Anokn <br />and Ramsey jointly commil lo an expenditure of $113,244 to implemen! the <br />project which is a 50% malch of Ihe Iolal project cost of $226,488. <br /> <br />The proposers believe this project positively benefits economically diverse areas of Anoka <br />and Rttmsey. The proposers and the business community atso project a positive influence <br />on commercial stability and job enhancement of corridor businesses. <br /> <br /> <br />
