intrrdueed the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION g93-07- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CAPITAL PURCHASE OF ONE SQUAD <br />CAR, ALLOCATION OF MONEY TO SET UP INVESTIGATOR VEHICLE AND <br />PURCHASE OF RADIO FOR ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES VEHICLE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at the Council's Finance Committee meeting of June 8, 1993, it was <br />authorized m purchase a third replacement squad during 1993, with the intent to rotate the vehicle <br />being replaced down to Administrative Services; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the cost of this action was $21,493 to be taken from the $33,978 available <br />from the replacement fund; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it has been determined that we can get longer life out of the fleet if the <br />current Investigator's car becomes part of the squad rotation with the remaining oldest squad being <br />relegated to Investigator uses; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this would result in that we would effectively have four new patrol cars, <br />one older Investigator unit and two, rather than one, squads available for Administrative Services <br />use with relatively low mileage; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the additional result is that there will not be a request for purchase of Police <br />vehicles in 1994 nor will there be a request for purchase of an Administrative Services vehicle in <br />1994; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the above does have some additional equipment set-up but for purposes of <br />the Police Department, the cost, including replacement fund allocation of the prior action and of <br />this one, is about $23,500; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Administrative Services will be installing a radio in one of the vehicles in <br />that the resultant five-car fleet is one radio short; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the result of the above is an actual cash savings of $9,945 from what is <br />available within the Equipment Replacement Fund; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Finance Committee, at their June 22, 1993 meeting, approved this <br />r~ommendation and hereby recommends that Ramsey City Council authorize the purchase and <br />flmdkng sources as detailed within this resolution. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Equipment Replacement Fund contains the following funds: S-1 - $14,300, S-2 - <br />$14,288, #701 - $0, #702 - $12,182, #705 - $10,848 and #706 - $10,948 with a total of <br />$33,978 available. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the allocation from the June 8, 1993 Finance Committee meeting was $21,493 toward <br />squad, replacement fund and set up. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />That the allocation for the cost of setting up the Investigator's squad is at a not-to-exceed <br />amount of $2,000. <br /> <br />qq <br /> <br /> <br />
